John Lucido’s love for growing herbs and produce began when he was 5 years old. His father gave each of his 9 sons a tiny plot on their strawberry farm to grow whatever they wanted. That started a lifelong love of planting and watching them thrive. Since then John has always had a passion for growing produce and herbs on his farm located in Copper Canyon, Texas. John also started a family tradition many years ago when he owned a grocery store in Rockford, Illinois known as Johnny’s Grocery Store. His variety of homemade sausages, pastas and herb plants were popular items for local customers. After 12 years of owning the store, he moved to Dallas to begin a new endeavor in the automotive industry, yet his passion for making sausage, pasta, along with growing produce and herbs never stopped. Over the years he continued to make and grow these products for friends and family and soon after his retirement decided to take it a little further. Over the years he has combined the products and has introduced a variety of things to local farmers markets. Today, people who visit local farmers markets in the DFW area can purchase a variety of Lucido’s products and share in the tradition.
